Berberis stenophylla

The Berberis x stenophylla is an extremely popular species of medium sized hedging plant. It is a spikey variety with lots of leathery dark green foliage. It flowers in the spring and produces wonderful rich golden-yellow cup shaped flowers in large clusters.This variety also produces a crop of berries that fruit in the autumn which make it a great attractor of wildlife that seek protection in the dense growth once the plant is more established.
