Monarda ‘Cambridge Scarlet’

Striking and unusual, rich scarlet-red blooms with beautiful, reddish-brown bracts appear in terminal whorls from July to September. This is a popular, aromatic perennial forming a bushy clump of attractive, mid-green leaves which smell of basil and mint and are used to fragrance Earl Grey tea.It is quite vigorous once established and looks lovely when planted ‘en masse’ in bold groups. Attracting bees and butterflies to the garden, it’s strong, bold colour also makes it excellent for offsetting a group of purple-flowering perennials.
