A lovely large, evergreen shrub that has dark green leaves with red stalks. This Portuguese laurel has small white, slightly fragrant elongated clusters of flowers in early summer that are often followed by small, red fruit which eventually turn dark purple. Portuguese laurel is an excellent hedging plant and it can even tolerate chalky soils. It is a good alternative to Prunus laurocerasus (Cherry Laurel) which has larger glossy lighter leaves. It can be supplied in various sizes from 2- 10 litre containers.
