Acer palmatum ‘Beni-Maiko’

The deeply lobed foliage of this relatively compact form, emerge in spring in a bright, pinkish red flush. As it ages, the fiery colours become more subdued as the foliage becomes greener – and this green is then held throughout the summer. In autumn, the foliage once again starts to change colour, this time developing rich orange and red tones before being shed. Great in a pot on the patio, it’s an outstanding addition to smaller gardens.
