Cordyline australis ‘Peko’

‘Peko’ is a tender, erect, palm-like, evergreen tree bearing broadly strap-shaped, red-flushed, bright green leaves, flushed reddish-pink on the underside. Loose, upright panicles of lightly fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers occasionally bloom in summer. Cordyline plants require lots of light in order to optimally thrive, and require neutral or alkaline based soils. As they are low maintenance plants, Cordyline do not require too much attention, other than removing dead and spent leaves. However, it will need to be protected during winter and colder seasons. Provide plenty of water to the Cordyline, but not too much to leave wet feet.
